About the Author

A footsore former troubadour, born in Los Angeles in 1951, I am a lifetime reader, writer, guitar picker, father, brother and son. I’m gonna stick to my knitting, do what I know, write songs and play the guitar, and throw cold water in the face of poorly conceived conventional wisdom.

I like contemporary monumental architecture, Arts and Crafts homes (ZAP house memories), Japanese landscaping, high altitudes, Thai food, Mexican food, corndogs with mustard, most Indian food, a petit’ Filet Mignon, hot rice pudding with raisins and milk, lentil soup, hot breath on my neck, biscuits and sausage gravy, the pole vault, the high jump, the long jump, USC Football, Oregon Track and Field, the LA Dodgers and the San Diego Chargers, but not necessarily in that order.

For the same reasons that nobody ever curled up with a glass of wine, a fireplace and desktop monitor, I really enjoy reading BOOKS. There’s something special about holding one, and turning it’s pages. It’s just a different experience than looking at a screen, so I’m often to be found with my nose happily buried in a book on history, any of the social sciences, philosophy, earth sciences, cosmology, or the occasional whodunit. It is my fondest hope that if you are not here, you are off somehere with a pleasantly disagreeable friend or a book that challenges your beliefs, listening to some unknown songwriter…

Your heart may be bigger than you know, and your beliefs more malleable than the facts.

Enjoy.
